Senior Product Manager – Cloud Building Management Systems

BrainBox AI utilizes self-adapted artificial intelligence technology to proactively optimize the energy consumption of one of the largest climate change contributors: Buildings.

Our AI engine supports a self-operating building that requires no human intervention. Using deep learning, cloud-based computing, and our proprietary process, our solution autonomously optimizes existing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control systems for maximum impact on energy consumption.  Our platform seamlessly connects and optimizes building systems to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and drive sustainability. What you will do

• Lead the product strategy and roadmap for our cloud building management system.
• Define and prioritize feature development in collaboration with engineering, design, and business teams.
• Create detailed product specifications for new features, including functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Collaborate with AI teams to ensure seamless integration of AI features into the broader system
• Work with automation teams to streamline internal processes and improve efficiency.
• Oversee UI/UX enhancements with a strong eye for design, leveraging tools like Figma.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure product success and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and manage product backlog and tracking within JIRA.
• Ensure compliance with best practices in web security.
• Work closely with support teams, filing bug tickets in JIRA and providing hands-on support where necessary.
• Advocate for customer needs, conducting research and feedback sessions to improve product-market fit.
• Assess ROI, cost savings, and operational efficiency improvements to quantify value for customers and stakeholders
• Train sales teams on product features, value propositions, and competitive differentiators.
• Deliver compelling demos to showcase real-world applications and benefits.
• Monitor industry trends in building automation, IoT, AI, and cloud computing to drive innovation.

What you will need to be successful

• 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in building management systems or a related domain.
• Strong understanding of device integration within smart buildings.
• Experience working with building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonTalk).
• Practical experience with DDC or similar programming in BAS and HVAC control.
• Strong expertise in HTTP, MQTT, and TCP/IP networking.
• Proficiency in programming (JavaScript & Python) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and infrastructure, particularly AWS.
• Deep knowledge web security best practices, and software development methodologies.
• Skilled with product and design tools, including JIRA and Figma.
• Ability to analyze complex technical concepts and translate them into user-centric solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Language Requirements

• French-English bilingualism is required. 
• In addition to fluency in French, successful candidates must have full professional proficiency in English in order to support and collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or various stakeholders.
