Our team manages some of the most popular and critical features at Box, including the core web app. We handle user experiences for finding and organizing content, previewing various file types, annotating, highlighting content, and collaboration features such as commenting and sharing. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • As part of the scrum team, you will follow agile practices.
  • You will work closely with the leads to deliver high-quality outcomes for tasks that align with team goals.
  • You will collaborate with other engineers to uphold our engineering principles and values.
  • Utilize your technical and interpersonal skills to lead scrum level projects to completion.
  • Demonstrate solid engineering practices around writing clean, modular, testable, and maintainable code.
  • Participate in the technical design of features with guidance.
  • Conduct effective code reviews within your team.
  • Work to identify and eliminate technical debt.
  • Become self-sufficient in at least one large area of the codebase, while maintaining a high-level understanding of other components.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to align on requirements and understand the impact of your work on the business.
  • Contribute to the team’s growth by providing timely feedback.

WHO YOU ARE

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of Software Development experience.
  • You have experience working with frontend technologies such as ReactJS, TypeScript, Node.js, JavaScript, and Redux. Additionally, you are open to learning and contributing to PHP/GraphQL and Java, if necessary.
  • You like to be an owner and strive to do work you're proud of, both technically and in your team interactions.
  • You have a passion for solving complex technical problems and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • You don't hesitate to share your feedback and opinions.
  • You inspire other people to work with you and enjoy mentoring, coaching, and learning from other engineers.
  • You understand the importance of balancing security, performance, and usability.
  • You geek out on web architectures, spanning front-end and back-end layers.
  • You have a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design.

Boxers are expected to work from their assigned office a minimum of 2 days per week, with a focus on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
