We're actively searching for highly skilled Kubernetes SRE professionals to develop our Kubernetes platform and maintain its stability, security, resiliency and as well as drive the functionality, capability and efficiency of our infrastructure to the next level. You will help lead the cloud native team to design, develop, automate, and continuously improve cluster life cycle management, platform services and pipelines, such as monitoring, alerting, logging, tracing, CI/CD, etc. We are looking for a passionate engineer to join and collaborate with Cloud Native partner teams, Box developer community and open-source communities to advance Kubernetes and Cloud Native technologies.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across GKE and EKS environments.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools for deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot GKE and EKS components to ensure high availability and performance in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Implement security best practices for Kubernetes infrastructure and services.
  • Participate in our Kubernetes on-call schedule.
  • Proactively and continuously improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of our Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Manage our CI/CD pipelines and other DevOps tools and processes.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure that their applications are properly deployed and configured in Kubernetes.

WHO YOU ARE

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as Cloud or Infrastructure Engineer or similar role with at least 2+ years on GCP/AWS
  • You are passionate about solving hard problems with data-driven approach, strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • You take an SRE-centric approach to everything you build/manage, ensuring reliability, availability and security
  • You act like an proactive platform owner and strive to improve our platform for all customers
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills with the ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment
  • Experience with Distributed Systems, Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) & Cloud Security practices.
  • Proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes in GCP & AWS
  • Proficiency in building automations, frameworks preferably with programming and scripting languages such as Python and Go
  • Experience with infrastructure configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
  • Proficiency in using industry standard DevOps CI/CD frameworks such as Jenkins, GitHub, or the like
  • Proficiency with logging and observability technologies such as Splunk, Chronosphere, Edge Delta and the like
  • Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure resources/concepts such as VPCs, Subnets, Firewalls etc specifically for GCP/AWS

Preferred skills:

  • Have Kubernetes operator and controller development experience
  • Have experience working with SDN overlay networks at L1~L7 for Zero Trust posture (such as Calico or Istio)
  • Have GKE/EKS DevOps Engineering certifications
  • Have experience with preparing and executing FedRAMP compliance audits

You are in an office based role with the expectation of working from the Redwood City, CA office a minimum of 2x/week
