Why Box needs you:

Box seeks a talented Blackline Record to Report (R2R) Developer to join our Enterprise Systems team and support our rapid expansion. In this role, you will be critical in optimizing and automating our financial processes by leveraging your expertise in Blackline configuration, automation, and ERP integrations. You will collaborate closely with Finance and Accounting to streamline reconciliations, implement process improvements, and ensure seamless data flows between Blackline and our ERP systems.

 

This role will enable you to contribute to Box’s financial success by ensuring we meet our month-end close deadlines, maintain compliance, and improve financial data accuracy. What you'll do:

  • Automate and Optimize Reconciliations: Lead the development and automation of complex reconciliations, such as multi-currency, intercompany, and subscription-based transactions, within Blackline, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency.

  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain compliance with financial regulations by configuring Blackline to support audit and financial reporting standards. Assist Finance teams in audit processes by providing accurate reconciliation reports.

  • Technical Integration Management: Manage and monitor integrations between Blackline and ERP systems such as NetSuite, Kyriba, Planful ensuring smooth data flows and resolving data integrity issues using ETL tools and APIs.

  • Troubleshoot and Support: Resolve system bugs, address performance issues, and provide front-line technical support for production issues. Collaborate with Blackline support and external consultants to troubleshoot complex problems.

  • Develop and Implement Solutions: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements and ensure system reliability through hands-on coding and system configurations.

  • Drive Financial System Improvements: Collaborate with senior developers and system architects to implement Blackline configurations, ensuring they align with technical requirements and performance standards. Participate in troubleshooting and optimization efforts to continuously improve system efficiency.

  • Manage Testing and Upgrades: Lead QA and regression testing of custom deployments, upgrades, and system changes to ensure minimal disruption to financial workflows.

  • Collaborate on Best Practices: Contribute to team training and participate in process improvement initiatives, ensuring best practices are implemented and maintained across all financial systems.

 

Who you are:

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, technically skilled developer passionate about financial systems, automation, and problem-solving. You thrive in a collaborative team environment but are equally comfortable working independently to solve complex technical challenges.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

    • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Blackline, specifically configuring, customizing, and integrating Blackline’s reconciliation modules.

    • Advanced knowledge of Blackline modules, including Account Reconciliations, Automated Journals, Task Management, and Transaction Matching.

    • Proficiency in scripting, SQL, and working with APIs to automate financial workflows and enhance system functionality.

    • Experience working in an Agile environment and proficiency with tools like Jira and Confluence for project management and collaboration is preferred.

    • Experience with ETL platforms like Informatica or Talend and proficiency in scripting languages like Python or JavaScript is a plus.

    • Expertise in managing and optimizing ERP integrations with Blackline, specifically NetSuite, Kyriba, Planful, etc.

    • Ability to troubleshoot system bugs, resolve performance issues, and work with Blackline support as needed.

    • Ability to automate financial workflows and streamline integrations to meet financial close deadlines, maintain data integrity, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards."

    • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting processes and how financial reconciliations flow into month-end close activities.

    • Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Accounting, and IT.

    • Experience documenting test scripts, executing QA testing, and collaborating with business teams on UAT.
