Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Graduate Test Engineer on a defined-term (23-month) basis to join our Clonmel team.

Boston Scientific manufactures innovative implantable medical devices that help improve patients’ lives. As a Graduate Test Engineer, you will have the opportunity to build your technical expertise while supporting the testing and failure analysis of a broad range of medical devices.

Working as part of a collaborative technical team, you will provide manufacturing engineering support focused on improving product quality, test equipment yield and performance. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of electronic manufacturing systems, test fixtures and processes, helping ensure our products meet the high standards of quality and reliability expected of life-changing medical technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as part of the Test Engineering team to support manufacturing operations for implantable medical devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Operations, to identify improvement opportunities and support the resolution of quality and manufacturing issues.
• Perform device failure analysis to identify root causes at the component level for implantable electronic medical devices.
• Work with internal and external software developers to define and implement improvements to software applications and systems that enhance manufacturing and test yields.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, lean manufacturing performance and test system efficiency while reducing production fallout.
• Perform testing, analyze data, prepare technical reports and execute validation activities in accordance with applicable medical device standards and procedures.
• Apply data analysis and technical problem-solving skills using standard applications and internal component and device tracking systems.
• Prepare clear and accurate technical documentation and support regulatory submissions through established change notice processes and procedures.

Education & Experience:

• Hons Bachelor Degree (Level 8) in electrical or electronic engineering.
• Graduated within the past two years or currently in the final year of university.
• Relevant work experience or completion of a co-op program.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electronics, with strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to manage technical issues through to resolution. Familiarity with test software and programming tools, such as LabVIEW, C or C++, is desirable.
• Knowledge of validation processes within the medical device industry would be an advantage.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the initiative to contribute in a collaborative environment.
• Strong systems aptitude and an interest in developing technical skills.
• Enthusiastic, proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
• Interest in medical technology, manufacturing, product development or continuous improvement.
