About the Role

At Bose Automotive, we are obsessed with transforming the driving experience, where our customers experience something special in every car we’ve touched. We are looking for a manager dedicated to achieving best audio performance with our automotive partners developing cars in north America. You will have the opportunity to lead a versatile team of 6 highly skilled audio engineers working on exciting next generation experiences in some of the world’s leading automobiles.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with high caliber, cross functional teams to reach outstanding and robust audio quality deliveries. They will have the chance to make an impact and shape the development process going forward with key leadership in a highly visible role. They will also have a proven record of audio experience delivery in an embedded environment. This individual will enjoy collaborating with a diverse team, establishing strong relationships with other leaders, while learning and sharing knowledge.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced manager to lead our local audio delivery application team in Michigan. The ideal candidate will be a talented people manager, understanding the work context of field engineers specialized in experiential and technological delivery, and with good personal experience in that field as well.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the highly skilled Local Audio systems engineering team to align on audio experiences with the OEMs and deliver them for robust mass production.

  • Enable and develop audio team members to continuously push the envelope of audio performance to support and develop the Bose brand further.

  • Leads the team to handle audio tuning delivery within the dynamic context of automotive systems development and integration.

  • Work closely with customers, suppliers and partners as well as internal teams to develop comprehensive project plan with a focus on timely, efficient of Bose automotive best audio experiences.

  • Be accountable for Audio tuning delivery excellence for our north America partners including production intent as well as showcase deliveries; identify, oversee, and proactively manage resource constraints and conflicts to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.

  • Leads audio related technical contact with OEM and other partners with the support of individual regional experts, relentlessly enhance our capacity to provide world-class experiences, fostering both customer satisfaction and the growth of Bose Automotive business.

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for matters involving issues, scope changes, quality, communication management, risks, or interfaces/dependencies.

  • Provide technical support to the project team in areas of requirements analysis, architecture design, integration, or issues investigation.

  • Be responsible for alignment with project management internal team and customer; deliverables date and content negotiation, target alignment, performance reporting.

  •  Be ready to roll up the sleeves and dive into technical details, enable collaboration on site between the Bose team and the customer to reach best Bose experiences, investigate issues, implement prototypes/demos, capture lessons learnt etc.

  •  Be a key leader in the agile process fostering collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and transparency.

  •  Represent the voice of the customer within the Bose organization.

  • Represent Bose brand standards and guidelines in front in front of our customers

About You

  • 10+ years of engineering experience and a proven track record of successfully delivering high performing audio systems, with specific experience in the automotive context.

  • 2+ years of management experience with a solid track record of building, leading and mentoring technical engineering teams.

  • Good understanding of management in a highly skilled team environment related to experiential products, including some subjective assessments.

  • Desire to enable a high performing team, enabling cross function collaboration, with strong human interaction and cooperation is essential.

  • Experience interacting, negotiating and influencing customers and business partners

  • Possess a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration on a global scale, effectively engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to establish a robust network that drives business outcomes.

  • Proficient in navigating RFI/RFQ phases, including the preparation and delivery of responses, with a demonstrated history of engaging with customers to secure business opportunities.

  • Strong comprehension of Audio related tool set environment from acoustical measurements, to filter design, down to electrical and acoustical verification.

  • Proficient in audio system approach including hardware components (Amplifier, headunit, loudspeakers, acoustical enclosures and packaging) as well as software components (signal processing, functional application, software integration)

  • Preference for candidates with automotive industry background in either an OEM or Tier 1 company, coupled with prior experience in a customer-facing technical role.

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, along with excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills, is essential.

Education & Certificates

  •  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
