Job Description

As System Engineer, you hold overall technical coordination for the holistic development of mechatronic comfort actuators.

This includes systems such as door window regulators, seats, sunroofs, and steering column adjustments, from concept through series production.

Your focus is on optimal system architecture, kinematics, safety, and functionality, with the electric drive as a critical embedded component.

Responsibilities:

(1) Requirements Management & System Specification:

Disassembly of customer requirements for door regulator, sunroof, seat and steering wheel systems.

Creation and ownership of the System Requirements Specification (SyRS), translation into precise motor design targets and technical specifications, and ensuring their fulfillment.

(2) System Architecture & Concept Development:

Development and ownership of the holistic technical concept for the mechatronic function (kinematics, actuation, sensors, control, safety).

Definition of all mechanical, electrical, and functional interfaces to the vehicle (mounting, E/E architecture, bus system etc...).

(3) Technical Coordination & Integration:

Serves as the central coordination point for the cross-functional motor development process (mechanical design, drive and transmission system selection, and electronics/software).

Focuses on aligning interfaces, resolving system-level technical challenges, and ensuring seamless integration of the motor within the broader system.

(4) Customer Communication & Solution Development:

Primary technical point of contact for OEM/Tier1 customers, clarifying system requirement boundaries, participating in design reviews, presenting system-level solutions, and supporting the entire project process (sample testing, problem resolution).

(5) Safety & Risk Management:

Execution of System-FMEA and Support the development of safety concepts according to ISO 26262 (ASIL) for safety-critical functions (e.g., anti-pinch).

(6) Validation & Verification:

Planning and evaluation of system tests to validate function, durability, and acoustics. Ensuring system and motor performance meets core customer expectations.

(7) Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Close departmental cooperation (electronic development, production, quality, etc.) to ensure project efficiency and promote the technical implementation of motor products from design to mass production.

(8) Documentation & Knowledge Management:

Development and maintenance of technical documents (requirement specs, design plans, test reports). Establishment of a standardized technical data system.

Track the development trend of automotive motor systems and mechanical transmission technology in the industry, introduce advanced design concepts and methods, and optimize existing technical solutions.

Qualifications

(1) 10+ years of professional experience in developing automotive mechatronic systems, ideally in door regulator/seat/sunroof or steering wheel systems. Experience at an automotive system supplier is preferred.
(2) Solid knowledge of kinematics, mechanics, and dynamics for designing motion functions and force transmission.
(3) Deep understanding of motor-system interaction principles, and proven skills in system integration design, performance simulation, and testing verification.
(4) Proficient in using UG, capable of independent system-motor matching design.
(5) A solid knowledge base in vehicle E/E architecture, bus systems (LIN, CAN), systems engineering processes (V-model, requirements management), and functional safety (ISO 26262) is advantageous.
(6) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
