Job Description

Your Role

As a Development Engineer, you will drive innovation and optimization of refrigeration circuits in our next-generation heat pump systems. From concept through validation, you will ensure that system performance meets customer expectations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers in an international, agile environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • You design and select refrigeration components based on system requirements.
  • You collaborate with suppliers to adapt components to our needs.
  • You take ownership of system performance KPIs.
  • You develop and execute test plans to verify system targets.
  • You perform simulations to iterate designs and solve technical challenges.
  • You work on new concepts and support patent applications.
  • You lead or participate in safety strategies, risk assessments, and lifecycle improvement projects.
  • You contribute to building internal know-how, training colleagues and shaping technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field, preferably with a focus on thermodynamics or refrigeration.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and refrigeration.
  • Experience in selecting, testing, and validating refrigeration components and systems.
  • Comfortable working in a lab environment with test rigs and measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and write technical documentation and specifications.
  • Familiar with simulation tools (e.g., Dymola, MATLAB/Simulink); experience modeling refrigerant systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of technical standards and legal requirements related to refrigeration (e.g., EN14511, EN14825, Ecodesign, F-Gas, PED) is valued.
  • Familiarity with agile development processes is a plus.
