The Opportunity:

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you’re eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client’s needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management software to solve some of our clients’ toughest challenges. 

As a senior platform DevOps Platform Engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to affect mission-forward change. On our team, you’ll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you’ll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process.

You’ll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you’ll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.

You Have: 

• 5+ years of experience in the development of tools and processes to drive DevOps or DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving issues for CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness
• 5+ years of experience working with Kubernetes for improving continuous deployment tools
• 3+ years of experience automating, monitoring, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in a production environment 
• 3+ years of experience developing, managing, and securing containers
• 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, including Terraform, or Configuration-as-Code, including Ansible
• Experience with version control such as advanced Git usage, branching strategies, and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Experience with CI/CD GitLab pipelines, designing and implementing HA solutions, and advanced DR strategies and implementation
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in software engineering, or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree 

Nice If You Have: 

• 3+ years of experience working closely with software development teams
• Experience in an Infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineer role
• Experience with project, task, and team leadership
• Experience deploying active AWS or Azure services using Infrastructure-as-Code technologies, including CloudFormation or Terraform
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services
• Experience with configmaps, RBAC, StatefulSets, and DaemonSets
• Experience with Java, Python, C#, C/C++, .NET, JavaScript, React, NodeJS, PHP, or Drupal 
• Master’s degree
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
