This role is more than just coding. As a Database Admin and Backend Developer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your passion to learn new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You’ll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You’ll help make sure the solution developed by the team considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.

You Have: 

• 3+ years of experience of in software development using Java, Spring Boot and APIs

• 3+ years of experience with cloud development, migration and implementation

• 2+ years of experience with AWS RDS database, Aurora PostgreSQL

• Experience with Agile methodology, software engineering, product management, and software products

• Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team

• Knowledge of developing and maintaining the technology needed to power the components which enable the user-facing side of enterprise applications databases, conceptualize and implement data storage solutions, run performance testing and benchmarking, and optimize data performance 

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements​

• HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience with software engineering or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience with software engineering

​Nice If You Have: 

• Experience with application containers, and Kubernetes for container orchestration 

• Experience with DevOps

• Experience providing application and technical support during all phases of the application lifecycle, including support for migrations of software applications into various environments 

• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
