Lead business controller - Tech at Booking.com:

We are currently looking for an entrepreneurial colleague to be part of the dynamic and fast-paced FP&A Business Control team at Booking.com. Business Control consists of the following focus areas: Commercial business, Central Technology, FinTech, People, Real Estate, Finance, Legal and Strategy. The scope of this role is Central Technology.

The ideal candidate will possess strong Technology experience, exceptional project management and business partnering skills, ability to work with data and develop insightful analyses, a hands-on approach and collaborative mindset. 

This experienced professional will support our large technology ambitions as we enable the Connected Trip, working hand in hand with senior management and multiple departments to effectively manage and deploy IT Opex & Capex across the organization. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager FP&A Central Tech, the successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing our IT Opex & Capex management capabilities to drive business performance and achieve long-term strategic objectives.

This position will be based out of our award-winning eco-friendly global HQ campus in Amsterdam.

B.Responsible

Booking Technology Initiatives

• Collaborate with and support senior management in developing a company-wide Technology roadmap; 
• Lead end-to-end project management of Technology initiatives, including process design and reengineering, and organizational change management;
• Manage stakeholders at all levels (including C-level leaders), fostering collaboration and maintaining strong relationships to drive project success across the broader organization;
• Leverage technical skills to navigate finance systems and analyze data
• Analyze historical data, current trends and benchmarks to find opportunities for increased efficiencies

Business Control Central Tech

• Support the team in both the short and long-term business planning process to create solid financial plans for Central Tech;
• Proactively advise the senior management on trends and financial/operational opportunities;
• In-depth understanding of Technology spend business drivers to serve as liaison between the business and Corporate & Group FP&A;
• Challenge the status quo and strive for excellence in all internal processes;
• Preparation of financials for internal and board-level reviews.
• With guidance from Senior Management and FP&A leadership, drive standardization, best practice sharing and optimization management of Business Control service offering for enhanced value creation.

B.Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other related field;
• Additional professional certification (CPA/RC/CIMA/CMA) or studying is a plus;
• 8+ years of experience in business control;
• 4+ years of project management and/or transformation experience, with a focus on Technology
• Extensive experience in and understanding of cost management within the following Technology areas: Infrastructure (e.g. Data Centers and Cloud), Software licensing and Data management.
• Advanced knowledge of Investment / Capex
• Advanced knowledge of Technology procurement processes and multi year agreements 
• Advanced knowledge of Excel required, Google Sheets is a plus;
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal) in English;
• Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and working in an unstructured environment;
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion;
• Organized, proactive and results oriented.
