Boeing is seeking a Weights & Mass Property Engineer to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including associate, experienced and senior level engineers.

Position Responsibilities: Responsibilities will vary based on job level and experience, but representative tasks could include:

  • Defining weight, balance and mass properties related design requirements.

  • Participates in developing customer specification commitments.

  • Provides routine vehicle or system configuration guidance.

  • Supports individual design team weight control efforts.

  • Estimates, calculates, and measures and verifies mass, weight, stiffness and inertias of components, assemblies and completed vehicles or systems.

  • Participates in developing and maintaining weight, balance, and mass properties accounting systems.

  • Generates weight and balance reports.

  • Participates in developing and implementing new processes and tools.

  • Works under general supervision.

Additional Position Responsibilities:

  • Developing tools and methods for model weight, inertias, and center of gravity for entire vehicles and associated payloads

  • Estimate and track vehicle and payload mass properties

  • Provide design guidance based on mass properties to the rest of the multidisciplinary design team

  • Respond to customer Request for Proposals (RFPs)

  • Prepare and present information to internal and external customers Document findings

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 1+ years of engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Master’s degree or higher

  • Aerospace engineering experience

  • 3D CAD experience

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for associate: $81,600 - $110,400

Summary pay range for experienced: $100,300 - $135,700

Summary pay range for senior: $121,550 - $164,450
