Senior Quality Engineer (Level 4) (1st Shift)

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer (Level 4) to support the 787 Program based out of North Charleston, South Carolina on first shift!

The Quality Engineering (QE) team at Boeing South Carolina is looking for talented engineers to join our team. QEs work with other engineering functions and the production team to solve complex problems in the Quality Management System. QEs work close to the product every day and are empowered to think creatively to eliminate defects and improve first pass quality. QEs lead problem solving and root cause corrective action activities, perform advanced data analysis, and report out to leadership at all levels.

Position Responsibilities:

• Analyze engineering documentation to determine process capability and conformance

• Perform data analysis of defect trends and present findings and recommendations

• Lead projects to identify root cause and eliminate defects and rework

• Execute quality build plan changes

• Recommend corrective actions to address non-conformances.

• Perform engineering change review and verification

• Continuous improvement of quality engineering processes

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Boeing South Carolina (BSC).

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET- accredited institution

• 10+ years' experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or another regulated industry.

• 10+ years' experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution processes.

• 10+ years' experience managing projects with cross-functional stakeholders and teammates

• 10+ years' experience collecting, organizing and analyzing data, summarizing findings, and developing conclusions.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience working in a Quality Engineering or other production engineering job role.

• Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard

• Experience with analytics tools & software.

• Proactive and collaborative mindset with an emphasis on positive relationships.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $108,800 - $147,200
