Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer to join our dynamic Propulsion Systems Engineering team in the Pacific Northwest region, specifically in Everett or Renton, WA

We are Propulsion System Engineering; an organization in Boeing Commercial Aircraft of over 1000 employees who are passionate and motivated about developing great airplanes that can inspire, connect, and serve people around the world. We are looking to attract expert and lead level engineers to our team who are interested in working on interesting and challenging projects on the design and certification of engine, propulsion systems, airplane fuel systems, and auxiliary power units for all of the great commercial airline products we support.

This requisition is specifically targeting Engineers who possess the requisite skills and relevant job experience to excel within our Propulsion Organization. Successful candidates will be integrated into the organization and placed in suitable positions within the Propulsion team based on their unique skills, strengths, capabilities, and interests. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Position Responsibilities:

• Leads and integrates extensively with other engineering disciplines and propulsion system suppliers/ industry partners.
• Provides definition of requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems and vehicle fuel and tank systems.
• Provides definitions, coordination, and control of the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.
• Develops specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Creates design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria.
• Develops various testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.
• Provides definition and supports performance of certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.
• Supports fielded systems to assure continued reliability and airworthiness.
• Develops concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.
• Utilizes and applies Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to speed innovation, increase operating efficiencies and assist in development, integration and certification of complex systems.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry or related technical field of study.
• Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Knowledge of development, production and certification testing and/or qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements. 
• Knowledge of propulsion system analysis principles, processes, methods, and tools for aerospace vehicles and their components, including company and industry standards and practices.
• Knowledge of propulsion system components, interfaces, and their design/integration variables, within aerospace vehicles. Ability to interface with engine and component suppliers.
• Prior Engineering experience with turbo-machinery.
• Experience with computer aided design software and tools.
• Experience coding in Python, C++, Matlab, Linux.
• Experience with Engine testing, modeling, analysis, and Simulation.
• Experience with design and manufacturing of large, complex assemblies.
• Experience with Engine Control, detection, and indication.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work

experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $121,550 - $164,450
