Boeing Digital Support Operation Center is currently looking for a Senior DevOPS Engineer to join their team in Gothenburg, Sweden. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

As a DevOps Engineer at Boeing, you will play a pivotal role in streamlining our development and operations processes to ensure seamless software delivery and infrastructure management. You will collaborate closely with our development, operations, and quality assurance teams to build and maintain robust systems, automate deployment pipelines, and optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of our applications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and highly available infrastructure using modern DevOps practices.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to implement efficient and reliable deployment pipelines.
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling processes to optimize system performance and availability.
  • Implement and manage configuration management tools and infrastructure-as-code frameworks to ensure consistent and reproducible deployments.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, performance issues, and system failures in a timely manner.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Monitor system metrics and logs to proactively identify issues and propose solutions for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance DevOps practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members, fostering their growth and professional development.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement in our DevOps practices.
  • Effectively contribute to building the overall knowledge and expertise of the technical team.
  • Pioneer and support special projects, including integrations between SalesForce and JIRA for ticketing systems. Serve as a go-to resource for tools development and process improvement, with the ability to write small custom web-based tools for internal use.
  • Lead initiatives to improve the experience of engineers and support staff by identifying and addressing pain points in their workflows. Actively seek feedback and implement changes to enhance productivity and job satisfaction.
  • Conduct training sessions and provide mentorship to team members and other departments. Focus on teaching others to enable them to take on newer and bigger tasks, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance DevOps practices.
  • On call based roster (24x7 standby) every fourth to fifth week-additional compensation(overtime) and time off applies

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite 2 days a week. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):   

  • 10+ years in software development or advanced technical support role
  • 5+ yrs. of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a track record of successfully implementing and managing infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Proven experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms, with a focus on security, storage, compute, and monitoring services.
  • Strong understanding of IAM policies, Key Vaults, and security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, or other similar monitoring tools. Proficiency in managing storage solutions such as Azure Storage, AWS S3, and related services.
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms like AKS and/or EKS.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
  • Fluency in English language

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 7+ yrs. of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a track record of successfully implementing and managing infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and experience deploying and managing applications within the AWS cloud environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, and PHP.
  • Solid understanding of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Ability to write and integrate with small custom web-based tools for internal use, demonstrating basic web development.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Cloud Developer certification
  • Azure AI fundamentals certification
  • 24X7 work environment on call

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associates) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
