Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Talent Acquisition is currently looking for a Lead Data Scientist Level 5 in Englewood CO, with expertise in AI, machine learning (ML), and other modeling frameworks. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets, developing and deploying various AI and ML models, and creating insightful visualizations to drive data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to extract valuable insights from data and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

 Position Responsibilities:

Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.

Partner closely with process engineers to understand bottlenecks in process value streams, identify automation and data science opportunities and partner with various execution teams to address gaps.

Develop and deploy AI, ML and other models to solve business problems and optimize processes.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable data science projects.

Lead the implementation of said projects by coordinating production readiness through applicable IT and engineering processes and enabling sustaining IT teams to help monitor and support models.

Create interactive and visually appealing data visualizations to effectively communicate findings and insights.

Conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to enhance model performance.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, ML, and data visualization techniques.

Evaluate and validate models, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists, sharing best practices and promoting a data-driven culture.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Englewood, CO location.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years in data analytics or data science field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Date Science, Information Security or a related field. 
  • Proficiency in AI and ML techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with some experience in implementing ML algorithms and frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis and experimental design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex data challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with large datasets and data preprocessing techniques.
  • A strong passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in AI, ML,

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in data analytics or data science field.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js to create interactive and impactful visualizations.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Aviation Industry background strongly preferred

Typical Education & Experience:

Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.) preferred, but not required.
