Position Overview:

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a KC-46 Remote Vision System (RVS) Electrical Engineer to join the team in Everett, WA.

KC-46 Remote Vision System (RVS) Team is responsible for the boom and panoramic camera system that feeds the remote vision displays that are the Aerial Refueling Operators’ primary input interfaces to configure and control the aerial refueling systems. The team works closely with equipment suppliers, flight test, production, Boeing Commercial, Boeing Global Services, and the military customer.

We are seeking an electrical engineer to join our IPT team. This position is best suited to individuals who are self-starters, highly motivated, work well in fast-paced multidiscipline team environments, and are able to work with quick decisions for the best interest of the business. This person will join the team responsible for guiding the sustainment of existing Remote Vision Systems as well as the development of Boeing’s upgraded Remote Vision Systems (RVS 2.0 and Panoramic Camera Upgrade). RVS 2.0 represents a significant innovation and includes cutting-edge technologies including high-definition, 3D video systems to enable Boeing to deliver the next generation of industry-leading aerial refueling capabilities.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior level Vision System Electrical Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute lab testing for RVS optical system performance

  • Architect and integrate the RVS data recording systems utilized to capture and playback full rate video to support flight and lab testing

  • Develop Lab and Flight Test Plans and Procedures to meet Military Handbook, FAA, system specifications, and ARCA Airworthiness criteria

  • Plan and execute trade studies, flight tests, and lab tests for prototype optical systems

  • Direct the construction of test benches, support equipment, instrumentation, and wiring to support lab and flight test activities

  • Model, simulate, and analyze optics system performance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Secret clearance - post start

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years experience with software engineering and/or electrical engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Proficient in Matlab

  • Prior experience with Optics

  • 1+ years in planning and conducting lab, ground, or flight testing

Typical Education/Experience: 

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard 

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range (Experienced - Level 3) $102,850 - $139,150. Summary pay range (Senior - Level 4): $128,350 - $173,650
