About the Role

We’re looking for a versatile DevOps Engineer who can also contribute meaningfully in another area of engineering.

This role will work across our AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, security and compliance practices, application stack, and increasingly our AI-powered engineering and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

DevOps & Infrastructure
  • Design, implement, maintain, and scale our AWS infrastructure, including EC2-based workloads

  • Monitor infrastructure and application performance and implement automated scaling and reliability improvements

  • Manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes

  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code where appropriate

  • Maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster-recovery processes

  • Own and coordinate security activities including penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking, and validation

  • Implement and maintain security best practices across environments

  • Support our SOC 2 and other security/compliance requirements

  • Maintain infrastructure documentation and compliance audit trails

  • Support deployment, scaling, monitoring, and observability of AI/LLM-backed services and workflows

  • Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, developer experience, automation, security, and cost efficiency

Required Qualifications

DevOps
  • Strong hands-on AWS experience, including deploying, maintaining, and scaling production infrastructure

  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and application security

  • Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and production troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Experience working with security or compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, or similar

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to independently organize and drive infrastructure and operational projects

  • Ability to travel for our bi-annual boardable days (all company meetings)

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certification such as Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or Developer

  • Strong Terraform or CloudFormation experience

  • Docker and/or Kubernetes experience

  • CloudWatch, ELK, Datadog, or similar monitoring and observability experience

  • Database administration and MySQL performance optimization experience

  • Experience with performance, load, or security testing

  • Experience working in a SaaS environment

  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-focused environments

  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL, data lakes, BI, or analytics infrastructure

  • Experience building or operating AI/LLM-backed systems

AI & Agentic Development

Experience with AI orchestration or agentic development is a significant plus, including:

  • LLM APIs such as Anthropic or OpenAI

  • Tool/function calling and MCP

  • Multi-step or multi-agent workflows

  • AI-assisted software development and testing

  • Automated test generation, bug reproduction, or triage

  • Monitoring, security, governance, and cost management for AI-powered systems

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package

  • Remote or Hybrid work

  • Opportunity to have meaningful ownership over production infrastructure and engineering practices

  • Professional development and certification support

  • Collaborative engineering environment with an emphasis on knowledge sharing

  • Health, dental, and vision benefits

  • Retirement plan with company matching

What Success Looks Like

The ideal candidate is first and foremost someone we can trust with our production infrastructure.

You should be comfortable owning AWS environments, deployments, monitoring, security, reliability, and operational improvements without requiring constant direction.

We value breadth, ownership, and adaptability more than finding someone who checks every technology box.
