Position Overview
BlitzenX is seeking a highly experienced Guidewire Integration Gateway (IG) Apps Architect to lead enterprise integration architecture initiatives across Guidewire ecosystems, cloud platforms, digital applications, and third-party carrier systems.
This role is responsible for architecting scalable, resilient, and reusable integration frameworks that support carrier modernization programs, Guidewire Cloud transformations, API-first ecosystems, and enterprise-grade distributed systems.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Guidewire integrations, enterprise architecture, middleware platforms, cloud-native engineering, and large-scale insurance technology delivery.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving technical direction, integration governance, engineering excellence, platform stability, and delivery scalability across multiple strategic programs.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Integration Architecture
- Define and govern enterprise integration architecture standards across:
- Guidewire PolicyCenter
- ClaimCenter
- BillingCenter
- Digital Portals
- CRM Platforms
- Data Platforms
- External Vendor Ecosystems
- Architect scalable synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Establish reusable enterprise integration accelerators and frameworks.
- Drive API-led connectivity and event-driven architecture standards.
- Define enterprise service orchestration and integration governance models.
Guidewire Integration Gateway (IG) Leadership
- Lead architecture and implementation of Guidewire IG applications.
- Design message transformation, orchestration, routing, retry, and resiliency frameworks.
- Define enterprise standards for:
- Integration error handling
- Monitoring
- Logging
- Alerting
- Recovery mechanisms
- Architect highly available and fault-tolerant integration solutions.
- Drive integration modernization initiatives aligned to Guidewire Cloud standards.
API & Middleware Engineering
- Architect enterprise REST and SOAP-based service ecosystems.
- Design reusable microservices and integration APIs.
- Lead middleware integration strategy across platforms such as:
- MuleSoft
- Kafka
- Apigee
- Azure Integration Services
- Boomi
- Informatica
- Tibco
- Define API governance, security, authentication, and versioning standards.
- Ensure enterprise compliance for OAuth2, JWT, SAML, and IAM integrations.
Cloud & DevOps Enablement
- Support Guidewire Cloud transformation initiatives.
- Define CI/CD integration deployment pipelines and release governance.
- Architect cloud-native integration solutions leveraging:
- AWS
- Azure
- Kubernetes
- Docker
- Terraform
- Jenkins/GitHub Actions
- Partner with DevOps and SRE teams to improve deployment stability and observability.
- Establish integration monitoring and operational health frameworks.
Data & Event-Driven Architecture
- Architect enterprise event-streaming and messaging solutions.
- Define canonical data models and enterprise transformation strategies.
- Support integration with enterprise data lakes and analytics platforms.
- Optimize integration performance for high-volume carrier transaction processing.
- Design scalable real-time and batch integration solutions.
Technical Leadership & Governance
- Conduct enterprise architecture reviews and solution assessments.
- Establish integration engineering standards and best practices.
- Mentor integration developers, leads, and technical architects.
- Lead complex production issue triage and root cause analysis.
- Drive engineering maturity and operational excellence initiatives.
Client & Delivery Leadership
- Partner directly with carrier enterprise architects and technology leadership.
- Support SI delivery programs and strategic modernization initiatives.
- Participate in solutioning, estimations, architecture workshops, and pre-sales activities.
- Present architecture roadmaps and technical strategies to executive stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery execution.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years of enterprise integration experience.
- 6+ years of Guidewire integration architecture experience.
- Strong carrier-side P&C insurance domain expertise.
- Proven experience leading Guidewire Cloud integration programs.
- Experience operating within large-scale SI delivery environments.

BlitzenX Expectation
At BlitzenX, architects are expected to operate beyond individual project delivery. This role requires ownership mentality, engineering discipline, operational accountability, and the ability to build scalable enterprise integration ecosystems that support long-term carrier transformation initiatives.
We build delivery organizations that scale, not dependency-based teams that collapse when one architect disappears into a two-week vacation and suddenly nobody knows why the Kafka consumer stopped processing FNOL events. Corporate civilization remains fragile.
