We are seeking a leader with a solid technical background to run Blend’s infrastructure and data teams. In this role, you’ll manage and mentor a team of engineers while also helping to define the roadmap and design of Blend’s infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of running critical infrastructure, cultivating top talent, and enabling other internal teams to succeed.
How you’ll contribute:
- Own and evolve Blend’s core infrastructure, ensuring that our systems are scalable, highly available, and cost effective to support growing product demands.
- Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging kubernetes and AWS technologies, ensuring that our tech stack leverages the newest and best.
- Hire, mentor, and develop a team of high-performing engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and accountability.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and other Engineering Managers to ensure that Infrastructure solutions match the needs within the organization.
Who you are:
- 12+ years of experience working on Infrastructure or DevOps teams, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent communicator and can operate independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional role.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow engineering teams, including experience with hiring and talent development.
- Experienced in architecting and maintaining databases such as MongoDB and Postgres at scale.
- Proficient in developing infrastructure-as-code, ideally using Terraform.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, EKS, RDS, s3 etc) and can drive best practices with their usage.
To comply with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location.
For full time hires, the hiring base pay range for this position is between $192,000 and $225,000. Beyond base pay, Blend benefits and perks are described below.
Final base pay offer amounts will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to function, level, geographic location, job related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay will be adjusted for part-time roles to reflect scheduled hours.
