Network Engineer/F5 Engineer

Own your opportunity to serve as a critical component of our nation’s safety and security. As a Network Engineer/F5 Engineer at Blackspoke, you will enhance the systems that matter most through innovative network solutions.

What you will be working on:
As the Network Engineer/F5 Engineer, you will:

  • Perform research, requirements analysis, design, installation, documentation, troubleshooting, and sustainment of local- and wide-area network hardware and services.
  • Develop system specifications, architecture designs, integration, and test plans.
  • Ensure compliance with QA standards and service performance indicators.
  • Review Mission related change requirements and determine impacts on Transport activities.
  • Engineer and implement solutions for Projects based on customer Change Requests.
  • Serve as the technical representative for assigned projects.
  • Provide recommendations on newly submitted action items.
  • Coordinate issues with the appropriate owners/organizations.
  • Evaluate and report on new/emerging network/communication technologies.
  • Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams.

What you will bring to us (Must):

  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience with F5 (APM, AFM, SSLO, etc.).
  • Competence with mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS).
  • Experience with Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) revocation.
  • Familiarity with DoD PKI, Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory, and HTML.
  • Ability to describe and troubleshoot TLS/SSL handshake/connection issues.
  • Experience with HTTP, SAML, and OAuth.
  • Advanced network design, engineering, and implementation skills.
  • Creation of network-related Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) equipment lists and costing.
  • Understanding of DISA and IC standards and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate priorities.
  • Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction and guidance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
  • 5+ years of related technical experience in Network and Transport technologies.

Would be nice if you bring the following (Highly Desired):

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • F5 Networks Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
  • CISCO CCNP, CCVP, CCNA, or CCDP (or equivalent)
  • ITIL v3 Foundations
  • ISC2 CISSP
