Director, Platform Engineer

You have: 

• Minimum of 10 years work experience on large scale system design, software development and deployment. 
• Experience managing a large team and owning the tech strategy and roadmap in a mix of platform categories. 
• BA/BS in Computer Science (or similar) from an accredited university (or in lieu of degree, 4+ years of relevant work experience). 
• Strong programming skills in Java, C++, Golang, Python, or similar. 
• Experience in a Linux environment. 
• Experience deploying distributed systems like Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, or similar. 
• Experience with cloud deployment technology like Terraform or similar. 
• Agile development skills. 
• Ability and interest to learn new technologies or programming languages as needed.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities. We remain focused on increasing the impactful moments that arise when we work together in person – aligned with our commitment to performance and innovation.
