Description

Location:
This position is a hybrid position with a requirement to work in the client location near Richmond, VA. You must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States. Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship at this time.

What will you do?
As a Technical Lead (Drupal), you will work collaboratively with Bixal team members and various stakeholders to architect and develop top notch websites for our clients.
 
The ideal candidate will provide solutions for the maintenance and creation of Drupal 10/11 websites. Bixal’s Technical Lead (Drupal) will lead and manage a team of developers in building, maintaining, and enhancing web applications using the Drupal Content Management System (CMS) with a focus on creating code and implementing best practices that ensure quality deliverables. They will work on integrating code into automated systems that check for quality and allow for deployment to remote environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of Drupal software engineers
  • Interacts with team to gather, define, and analyze requirements to determine the most effective web technologies to satisfy business needs.
  • Conducting code reviews, identifying issues, and implementing best practices
  • Recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
  • Designs, tests and integrates system and enterprise software and multi-tier systems architectures.
  • Assists in the configuration of web server settings.
  • Provides custom module development.
  • Handles configuration management.
  • Creates scalable and efficient systems.
  • Documents back-end development processes and provides regular updates to the Bixal Project Manager.
  • Debugs and manages problem solving in the Drupal 10/11 environment.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience as a Drupal developer or Tech Lead, with at least 8 years of experience in Drupal development.
  • Must be able to undergo and pass a Secret security clearance.
  • Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with current web technologies and development tools, e.g., Docker, HTML5, PHP, API, Web Services, JSON, GraphQL, HTTPS.
  • Experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, functional and technical requirements, coding, debugging, testing, release and operation support. Experience with Agile Software Development Methodology. 
  • Experience with software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations. Experience building responsive websites. 
  • Experience with Content Management System design, build, and integration. 
  • Strong proficiencies in implementing solutions in Drupal 10/11 using core, contributed, and custom modules. 
  • Experience migrating from legacy SQL applications to Drupal.
  • Experience deploying to cloud platforms such as AWS and other Drupal specific hosting providers.
  • Experience working with Git and common branch workflows as well continuous integration using Bitbucket Pipelines or similar.
  • Experience working with Linux based operating systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of usability/accessibility standards of user interface development in order to produce code compliant for Section 508 accessibility; may work with development tools that aid in this process.
