Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services supporting Binance Pay and Card products.
- Build scalable APIs and microservices for payment processing, transaction management, merchant services, and related financial workflows.
- Participate in the development of distributed systems handling high-volume and latency-sensitive transactions.
- Work with databases, caching systems, message queues, and other infrastructure components to improve system performance and reliability.
- Implement robust transaction workflows with appropriate handling for retries, idempotency, concurrency, and failure scenarios.
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues through logs, metrics, tracing, and root-cause analysis.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Contribute to improvements in system reliability, observability, security, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and computer science fundamentals.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Go, C++, Python, or a similar language.
- Understanding of relational databases and SQL, including indexes, transactions, and database design fundamentals.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, HTTP, networking, and client-server architecture.
- Understanding of operating systems, concurrency, and common backend engineering concepts.
- Ability to write clear, maintainable code and reason systematically about technical problems.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-moving engineering environment.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, or other message-queue technologies.
- Understanding of distributed-system concepts such as consistency, availability, replication, caching, asynchronous processing, and fault tolerance.
- Knowledge of payment concepts such as authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, chargebacks, and payment lifecycle management.
- Previous backend engineering internship, personal project, hackathon, or open-source experience.
- Interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain, fintech, and payment infrastructure.
