Staff Product Data Analyst

Our Product Analytics and Data Science team is growing! We’re looking for a proven analyst to join us and contribute to thought leadership and data-driven decision making in the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Accountant Channel business unit at BILL. Part of this role is tactical; you’ll be responsible for finding data, putting it into a reportable format, and interpreting it for product teams. The other part is strategic: you’ll be a thought partner in measuring our product performance and identifying opportunities to improve it. You’ll work closely with product teams and other key stakeholders. 

Responsibilities would include:

• Championing a culture of experimentation, serving as a thought leader on A/B testing to drive innovation and optimizing product performance.
• Partnering with product teams to identify KPIs and building metrics that measure the impact of new products and initiatives.
• Helping build a data-driven culture by creating interactive dashboards that empower teams to access self-service insights on customer behavior, product performance, and business trends.
• Deepening understanding of BILL’s customers through insightful analyses that uncover key customer behaviors and trends.
• Collaborating with data engineering, finance, and other teams to optimize data pipelines, refine data models, and standardize metrics.
• Embracing challenges, prioritizing efforts across conflicting demands, and driving continuous improvement, while fostering a fun, collaborative, and energetic team environment.

• Curiosity about data, with the ability to think critically and logically to derive actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex findings into clear and compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Proven experience in product analytics - including A/B testing, customer journey analysis, KPI development/measurement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), data modeling frameworks (e.g., dbt), and programming languages such as Python or R.
• 6+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or Scientist role, ideally in a fintech, SaaS, or technology-driven environment.
• PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, or Computer Science.  A business degree or MBA is a plus.
