Software Engineering Manager – Trading Tools (Back Office)

**This role requires 3 days on-site in Malta**
 

We are looking for Software Engineering Manager to join the Trading Development department. Your team is responsible for building a Trader focussed back-office system which helps power one of the world’s top sportsbooks – betway.com

As a SEM you will lead a team of full stack team engineers responsible for everything from the Trader facing user interfaces and UX to innovating on automation and quality of life features for the Betway Trading floor. Your team will be based in both Malta and Barcelona. You will be heavily involved in defining the platform and technology strategy for your team and will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery and support of the product being built. You will also be accountable for the development and growth of the engineering team.

What you’ll do

· You’ll develop the people and a team culture through coaching, mentoring, and leadership

· You’ll work closely with stakeholders in the Sports Trading and Product departments to help solve real world business problems

· You’ll use your background in technology to innovate – working closely with Trading Development’s other SEMs and Quantitative Analysts in building a next generation Sportsbook product

· You’ll facilitate collaboration with other engineering departments and teams around the wider organisation and across Europe.

Who you are

· You are someone who loves technology, having previous hands-on full stack / OOP experience

· You have managed teams of Software Engineers in the past

· You are passionate about transformational leadership and invested in developing both people and a team culture

· You can apply agile and lean principles to solve problems at any scale

Current Technology Stack

· .Net Core

· ASP.Net, CSS, Javascript / JQuery etc

· Kubernetes (AKS)

· Microsoft Azure Stack (Event Hubs, Functions, SQL Server etc)

· CI/CD and YAML pipelines, ARM, Azure Devops

· ELK Observability Stack

Highly Desired

· Previous Sportsbook / iGaming experience

· UX development
