ABOUT THE TEAM

The Bestow Analytics team is a highly visible and dedicated team, working across the entire company to create data solutions that serve both our external partners and our internal stakeholders. The team works cross-functionally using cloud technology to provide curated data products, BI solutions, and high value deliverables. As a data analytics professional, you will span analytics engineering and insights to improve automation and decision making for our partners and internal stakeholders.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Use SQL, dbt, CI/CD, Github, and Google Cloud to automate data transformation pipelines that flow to our various enterprise partners .

  • Use Data Visualization tools (such as Tableau) to create intuitive data products, allowing our enterprise partners to better understand their business and trust their data.

  • Strong communicator, not afraid to contribute during meetings with stakeholders and engineering teammates, and asks clarifying questions to better understand business requirements and opportunities.

  • Build subject matter expertise within the insurance domain, in order to better anticipate partners’ needs.

  • Recommend and adopt data governance best practices to Improve data quality and controls.

  • Construct data validation checks and automated unit tests to catch data quality issues early, ensuring reliable downstream analytics and partner deliverables

  • Collaborate with other data analysts and engineers, sharing work and cross-training others.

  • Ensure data quality through automated monitoring and alerting, and occasionally serving within an on-call rotation.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and encourage the growth and development of team members.

  • Make decisions as a team. Propose your ideas. Review others’ work. Shared ownership.

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years - Strong SQL (eg: BigQuery) skills and ability to perform complex, effective, and efficient querying to extract data from cloud data warehouses

  • Passionate about solving problems with data and continuously delivers valuable and positive results.

  • Strong understanding of data transformation and quality engineering (eg: dbt and Airflow), and general software development lifecycle (SDLC, Agile development, CI/CD, Github).

  • Strong understanding of data organization, data modeling, and schema design.

  • Track record of writing efficient queries and reducing compute costs.

  • Able to communicate about data and findings, drawing upon compelling and concise summaries and clear data visualizations (slides, whitepaper, Jupyter notebook, Tableau, Google DataStudio, PowerBI, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience with AI Coding assistants within IDEs or agentic CLIs – AI tools are heavily engrained in Bestow culture.

  • Creating clear documentation of designs and code changes through Github, Lucid, Jira, or Confluence.
