Position: 2015-13591 - Application Services - Applications Developer
Salary: 100k-150k
Location: Washington DC
Position Description:

The Sponsor is seeking an experienced Senior Applications Developer. The candidate will be involved in full-lifecycle design and development of web-based applications using Java, JavaScript, Apache, SQL, XML, HTML, and MYSQL. The developer will translate user requirements from a formal requirements document into an application and/or database design, write interfaces to companion applications or databases, and provide support to applications in an O&M status. The candidate will oversee the ongoing maintenance of web applications, databases, web servers, web security and connectivity.



The selected candidate is expected to write necessary code with straightforward logic, ensure interoperability with other applications, and generate comprehensive test plans to ensure that adequate unit, system, and integration testing is performed. The candidate will oversee unit/functional testing and transition the complex application and/or database to production. The candidate is expected to perform general administrative activities and prepare status reports.









Mandatory Skills:


1. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Object Oriented analysis, design and programming







2. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Java SE 7+ to include JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3







3. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Model-View-Control (MVC) architecture such as Spring MVC







4. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Object/Relational Mapping frameworks such as Hibernate







5. 6 years demonstrated on-the-job experience (including Entry/Dev/FP/Senior level experience – total 6 years) with software systems applications, design, development, and interconnectivity







6. Minimum 4 years demonstrated on-the-job programming experience exhibiting progressively complex assignments. Experience must include Java.







7. Demonstrated on-the-job experience troubleshooting and debugging complex web-based tools and applications







8. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Enterprise Architecture, Agile Development Methods and software life-cycle management







9. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with front-end and back-end development to include Java web servers such as Apache Tomcat







10. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related degree program or experience that would provide equivalent knowledge

1. Demonstrated on-the-job experience working in a multi-tasking environment and planning work tasks







2. Demonstrated on-the-job experience translating increasingly complex system requirements into end-to-end design for applications







3. Demonstrated on-the-job experience exhibiting written communications skills to include technical documentation







4. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with SQL (Oracle SQL, MySQL) and relational database design and development







5. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Version Control tools such as SVN, Git or GitHub







6. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Apache Maven or Apache Ant







7. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with the Sponsor's mission and how a specific application supports the mission
