Job Description:

As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing technical programs for Belkin. Responsible for product development and project management of New Product Introductions for Smart Phone, Tablet and Laptop accessory solutions. The job entails product development program management from product concept through customer ship, sustaining and EOL. The Program Manager may also be called to be the technical leader and systems engineer for projects and will lead technical issues resolution. 

You will drive the schedule, cost, and quality for your products to achieve business objectives. You will lead multiple small, mid and large programs from concept through First Customer Ship, following Belkin’s Product Development processes. The job involves the project schedule, frequent interaction with internal cross-functional team members, division executive staff members, partners and vendors, finance, marketing, sales organization and occasionally, end customers. The work scope will include, but is not limited to, creation of project schedules, management of the program design, resource and staff assignment, management of the project planning, risk mitigation plans, project escalations, execution, and test activities, product introduction, and post product delivery support. You must possess the ability to promote collaborative decision-making, provide direction and establish a sense of urgency in the program team. Must be able to objectively evaluate risks to program objectives and be comfortable making difficult decisions, as well as deal with a certain degree of ambiguity and is also capable of making sound business decisions with minimal guidance.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead cross functional teams thru the entire product development cycle and all gates from concept to product specifications to commercialization/post launch, ensuring that all details are in compliance with Belkin standards.
  • Lead and coordinate development projects by aligning with Global PM team, Global Supply Chain, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, IDG and vendors to determine product requirements, product development schedules, budget and cost targets, resource assignments, risk mitigation plan, testing plan, other execution plan, all other functional responsibilities and ensure they are met.
  • Provide weekly status report of projects managed, escalation path, contingency plans to ensure that stake holders and cross functional teams are informed and DRIs are held accountable.
  • Manage projects involving cross-functional disciplines of Design, Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Finance in a matrix management organization.
  • Deliver projects under budget, resource and time constraints established in the project plan.
  • Create risk management list and contingency plans. Decide upon and execute contingency plans, when required.
  • Report projects status to multi-tiered audiences composed of team, peers, and executive staff audiences.
  • Manage projects that involve a mix of in-bound OEM/ODM, remote development and support teams, internal development and support teams.
  • Travel to OEM/ODM facilities in Asia to supervise and manage production ramp up.
  • Work with China based PDG team to ensure derivative products are in line with original vision.
  • Maintain accountability for accurate and prompt communication of project goals, status, costs and execution to all stakeholders, including a project tracker, FOB’s, tooling costs etc.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Specialization in engineering strongly preferred. 
  • 3+ years of project and program management experience required. A minimum of two years of the experience must be in a role as a successful, demonstrated program manager with involvement from initial concept through product delivery.
  • Program management experience should include:
  • Background and technical strength in one or more of the following – software, hardware, test/QA, hardware engineering, WiFi, computer systems, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent programs (usually at different stages of the life cycle)
  • Ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix management environment
  • Understanding of program requirements involving internal and external customers and the ability to communicate these to multiple tiered audiences
  • Ability to negotiate program and product tradeoffs
  • Ability to develop program plans with concentration on meeting product performance, development of budgets and schedule goals
  • Demonstration of collaborative team building skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a productive manner
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Proven ability to build collaboration among team members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Proficiency in a PLM toolkit software (Oracle’s Agile) a plus
  • A good understanding of mechanical, electrical engineering and other product qualification aspects are required.
  • Proven, excellent communication skills, meeting organization and management.
  • Motivated self-starter with high attention to detail
  • Previous experience working in an international organization is a plus
  • Curious, driven and respectful
