Senior Release Management Engineer (SAP S/4 & BTP)

Position Purpose

We are in search of a Release Management Engineer to support the execution of the technical Release Management of SAP S/4HANA systems and SAP BTP Applications. The successful candidate will be supporting the execution of Change and Release Management processes for both the CORE SAP S/4HANA Transformation Program as well as IT Operations following the CORE Program. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a technical background and good organizational skills to ensure the smooth functioning of our release processes.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Support the technical Release Management of SAP S/4 systems/SAP BTP supporting that releases are planned, executed, and validated according to GxP Guidelines.
• Support & execute Change and Release Management processes for both the CORE Program as well as IT Operations following the CORE Program, minimizing disruptions to services.
• Collaborate with the Release Management function, including technical and senior release management roles. Work closely with SAP Basis & Solution Manager teams as well as the SAP S/4HANA CORE Program to coordinate release activities across development, testing, and deployment, ensuring successful and timely releases.
• Act as a point of contact for inquiries and drive issue resolution related to technical Release Management and Solution Manager as well as Retrofit.
• Support the maintenance release & test plans, schedules, and documentation, including release notes and post-release evaluations.
• Mitigate risks associated with releases and communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding release status and potential impacts.
• Support the continuous improvement of release processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Collaboration with external IT Operations supplier as well as SAP (Rise with SAP)
• Own and drive end-to-end release management, including release planning and calendar management, deployment and RFC governance, CAB approvals, change lifecycle management, risk and dependency tracking, and issue resolution throughout the release cycle.

Who You Are: Key Skills

MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience
• Strong technical skills in SAP S4/SAP Solution Manager/SAP BTP/SAP ECC, with the ability to analyze and communicate technical solutions for e.g., conflict resolution to developers, incorporating systems architecture principles.
• At least 5 years of experience in technical Release Management, with basic knowledge in SAP S/4HANA systems/SAP Retrofit procedures.
• Knowledge of Change and Release Management processes, with a focus on minimizing disruptions to IT Operations and project delivery
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders. Previous experience working internationally or within cross-cultural teams is a plus.

NICE TO HAVE

• Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager (Focused Build with Innovate & Enhance Pace), gCTS, CTMS or similar tools for change & release management and monitoring.
• Experience with Release-, Test- & Deployment Automation (CI/CD) and respective tooling (e.g. Tricentis Tosca) is a plus.
• Understands ITIL & ISTQB frameworks and best practices is a plus.
• Ideally in a regulated environment (GxP Compliance)
• Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies is a plus (e.g. SAFe).
