Senior Associate Site IT Infrastructure Engineer 

Senior Associate Site IT Infrastructure Engineer for Berkeley, CA to provide technical support for LAN, WAN, servers and on-site IT infrastructure storage; participate in gathering & evaluating customer requests and project infrastructure needs against existing IT infrastructure; consult with network architects on network design models; collaborate with stakeholders & vendors to facilitate IT infrastructure purchases, configuration & installation; diagnose, troubleshoot & resolve on-site IT infrastructure problems; implement on-site IT infrastructure security measures; support on-site IT infrastructure lifecycle replacement activities; coordinate on-site IT infrastructure shelf stock; support IT asset inventory audits; provide training to vendors on on-site IT infrastructure. Requires Bachelor's in I.T., C.S., C.I.S., Software Engineering or closely-related field.  Will accept a single degree or any combination of degrees, diplomas, professional credentials or professional experience determined to be equivalent by a qualified evaluation service. Position also requires 3 yrs experience in IT-related position(s): assessing IT infrastructure architectures, service oriented architectures, and component technologies in an enterprise environment; providing enterprise-level IT infrastructure network & server support; designing, implementing & troubleshooting enterprise architecture, IT network and security solutions and server infrastructure; working with Cisco switches & routers, Cisco and Aruba access points, Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco and Aruba WLAN controllers, HP servers, and NetApp Filer; using VPN & routing protocols, including OSPF, TCP/UDP, IPV4 virtual LAN, L2 switching and L3 routing, and NAT/PAT IP addressing techniques; coordinating and/or overseeing external vendors during resolution of IT infrastructure incidents and changes to ensure business continuity and service performance; reviewing building plans & floor layouts and advising on Layer 1 designs and implementation related to Low Voltage Cabling (LVC), IT room build-outs, IT security, rack elevations and environmental requirements; assisting in resolution of infrastructure architectural issues; using architecture models & frameworks to support business and technology design decisions; evaluating opportunities & risks of new and emerging technologies for potential business use; using data & metrics to justify technology and service recommendations; driving adoption of new technology processes & methods across cross-functional teams and/or organizations; and planning and/or leading enterprise-level IT business projects involving business & IT stakeholders and external vendors. Up to 25% US travel req’d. Telecommuting permitted from location within reasonable commuting distance of Berkeley, CA up to 3 days per week.
