Purpose of the role

To drive technical excellence and innovation by leading the design and implementation of robust software solutions, providing mentorship to engineering teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to strategic planning to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of guidance and expertise to engineering teams to ensure alignment with best practices and foster a culture of technical excellence.
  • Contribution to strategic planning by aligning technical decisions with business goals, anticipating future technology trends, and providing insights to optimize product roadmaps.
  • Design and implementation of complex, scalable, and maintainable software solutions, considering long-term viability and business objectives.
  • Mentoring and coaching to junior and mid-level engineers to foster professional growth and knowledge sharing, elevating the overall skillset and capabilities of the organization.
  • Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
  • Innovation within the organization by identifying and incorporating new technologies, methodologies, and industry practices into the engineering process.

You will also manage stakeholder relationships, communicate complex ideas effectively, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

To be successful as a VP – Front-end/UI, you should have experience with:

  • Expert level experience in the technologies like, JavaScript, React JS, Redux, Angular, Unit testing- Jest enzyme, React testing library (RTL), Html ,CSS, Styled component, ES6, Typescript.

  • Strong experience in end-to-end solution design, including API integration, security, and performance optimization.

  • Hands-on experience leading agile teams, conducting code reviews, defining UI architecture standards, and enforcing best practices.

  • Java – Strong experience with RESTful APIs, Spring Boot microservices, and backend-for-frontend (BFF) patterns.

  • Experience with API Gateway, OAuth2 / JWT authentication, and secure API integration.

Some of Highly Valued Skills may include:

  • Experience designing scalable, distributed UI architectures for high-traffic systems.

  • Solid grasp of system design, event-driven architecture, and domain-driven design (DDD) concepts.

  • Performance tuning and optimization for large-scale SPAs.

  • Able to communicate well in English.

  • Able to negotiate and persuade others .

  • Problem Solving and analytical skills to provide though leadership at any technical problem.

  • Working knowledge on the build tools and CI/CD.

  • Experience in banking or financial services domain (especially Customer Care, CRM, or Contact Center tech).

  • Cypress Component testing.

  • Redux saga, reselect.

  • Containerization knowledge like Kubernetes or docker.

  • Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines for front-end deployments.

  • Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, and real-time data visualization.

  • Experience with Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for development environments.

  • Exposure to monitoring tools (New Relic, Datadog, Splunk) for front-end performance tracking.

  • Understanding of security best practices (XSS, CSRF, CORS, etc.).

  • Contribution to open-source, engineering blogs, or internal tech frameworks.
