Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be a successful Software Engineer-UI Developer you should have experience with:

• Strong hands-on experience in React.js development, building scalable and responsive enterprise-grade web applications.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, LESS, and Bootstrap.
• Experience in developing reusable UI components, state management, and component-based architectures.
• Strong understanding of frontend design patterns, object-oriented concepts, and secure coding practices.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and frontend testing frameworks such as Jest.
• Working knowledge of Core Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot applications.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL.
• Familiarity with source control tools such as Git and collaborative development practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using tools such as Jira.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across distributed teams.
• Total experience of 4+years

Additional relevant skills given below are highly valued:

• Experience with React Native for mobile application development.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or BCP.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Understanding of Micro Frontend Architecture and modern frontend engineering practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards, UI performance optimization, and frontend security best practices.
• Exposure to automated UI testing frameworks and quality engineering practices.
• Familiarity with workflow engines, business rules platforms, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience within Banking, Wealth Management, or Financial Services domains.
• Passion for learning emerging technologies and driving UI modernization initiatives.
