We’re Jacksonville's only locally governed, faith-based, not-for-profit health system and provide a full spectrum of preventive and specialty care through 200+ locations and six hospitals. Enterprise Architect, Enterprise Architecture, Remote Baptist Medical Center
The Senior Enterprise Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and guiding enterprise technology solutions that align with Baptist Health’s strategic, clinical, and operational priorities. Serving as a senior trusted technical advisor, this role translates complex business and clinical requirements into scalable, secure, and implementable architecture, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure, cloud platforms, infrastructure, and automation. The Senior Enterprise Architect establishes reference architectures, design standards, and deployment models that enable Enterprise Architects and delivery teams to build consistent and reliable solutions while embedding security, compliance, governance, and cost optimization directly into the architecture.
This is a highly project-focused architecture role, with the majority of time dedicated to enterprise initiatives and solving complex architectural challenges across the organization. The Senior Enterprise Architect owns architectural outcomes within their defined domain, provides technical direction and architectural decision-making throughout the project lifecycle, and collaborates across infrastructure, security, applications, clinical technology, and other architecture domains. This role is accountable for solution quality and architectural integrity while ensuring technology decisions support Baptist Health’s broader enterprise strategy and long-term technology roadmap.
Enterprise Architect Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business and all IT teams, approve, and reconcile strategic architecture goals with the current state implementations. You will be responsible for driving architectural excellence across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem by defining and governing directives, principles, guidelines, and best practices for the organization to follow.
- You will also recommend iterative paths towards the adoption of strategic architecture goals. Hands-on-technologist with significant experience in architecture and engineering of hybrid Microsoft infrastructure platforms and services, including development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices for an automation first approach.

- Developing a cloud strategy and coordinating the adaptation processes. Assessing applications, software and hardware. Establish best practices for cloud across the company. Selecting cloud providers and vetting third-party services. Help develop Cloud Center of Excellence. Develop FinOps processes. Ability to think and operate at scale.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on depth across the Microsoft and Azure stack, setting architectural direction for the domain.
- Design Entra ID (Conditional Access, PIM, RBAC), hybrid identity, and Microsoft 365 service architectures
- Serve as design authority for owned domains - designs are adopted as the standard, not just proposed. Produce design documents, reference architectures, and ADRs that guide delivery and operations. Partner with engineering and operations to ensure designs are implementable, supportable, and resilient.
- Mentor and grow Enterprise Architects and engineers, strengthening architectural discipline and team capability
Enterprise Architect Experience:
- 5+ years architecting Azure cloud and enterprise infrastructure, with hands-on Azure depth.

- Monitoring and observability by design: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights.
- Integration architecture (Epic APIs, , iPaaS).
- Proven ability to design deployment models and define IaC and CI/CD patterns for delivery teams to implement. Track record of embedding governance; security, compliance, cost - into solution designs.
- Healthcare or regulated environment experience a plus.
