As an Automation Engineer, you will also be responsible for:
The Automation Engineer is responsible identifying automation solutions across the SP&S manufacturing plants, building business cases for approval and working with the on-site Manufacturing teams to deploy solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance decision-making through the use of advanced technologies, including AI, machine learning, and robotic process automation (RPA). This role focuses on enhancing safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency by combining industrial automation (PLC/SCADA/MES) with AI-driven insights and intelligent process automation.
- Design and implement automation solutions for production lines, assembly systems, and material handling.
- Develop and maintain PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell).
- Support automation with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle).
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by designing automated processes and fixtures.
- Standardize and scale automation solutions across multiple production sites.
- Identify and analyze business processes suitable for automation, create automation roadmap and build business cases for funding.
- Connect shop-floor equipment (IIoT) for real-time data acquisition.
- Develop data pipelines between machines, MES, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure IoT).
- Create dashboards and monitoring solutions (Power BI, SCADA analytics).
Ensure interoperability between legacy equipment and modern digital systems

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in PLC, SCADA).
- Have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently. Strong problem-solving skills.
