• Are you passionate about precision craftsmanship and solving complex machining challenges?

Partner with the best

Baker Hughes is a global energy technology company serving the oil and gas sector across more than 120 countries. The Commercial & Sales organization drives growth by building strong customer partnerships, commercializing hydrocarbons, and delivering integrated equipment and service solutions. With a focus on digital transformation and energy transition, the team leverages data‑driven insights to optimize sales performance and maximize customer value.

Fuel your passion

The CNC Machinist is supporting the production of high‑precision, small components used in specialized tooling applications. You are operating in a low‑volume, high‑mix environment where craftsmanship, adaptability, and problem‑solving are essential. You are contributing to the creation of custom, one‑off parts by applying advanced machining strategies, ensuring exceptional accuracy, and collaborating closely with engineering and quality teams to deliver best‑in‑class tooling solutions.

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting up, programming, and operating CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment to manufacture highly detailed components

  • Interpreting complex engineering drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing instructions to meet extremely tight tolerances

  • Machining one‑of‑a‑kind parts and custom tooling using advanced machining strategies for unique, non‑repetitive jobs

  • Performing in‑process inspections using precision instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment

  • Optimizing machining processes by selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies

  • Collaborating with engineering, tooling, and quality teams to resolve manufacturability challenges

  • Maintaining equipment cleanliness, calibration, and performing basic preventive maintenance

  • Documenting setups, adjustments, and work performed to support repeatability for future tooling needs

  • Adhering to all safety, quality, and compliance standards

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 5+ years of CNC machining experience, including 3+ years working with tight‑tolerance parts (±0.0005" or tighter preferred)

  • Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and work instructions

  • Have experience machining small or intricate parts in a precision manufacturing environment

  • Have comfort working with one‑off parts, prototypes, or custom tooling with limited   process history

  • Have proficiency in CNC programming (G‑code); CAD/CAM experience (SolidWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360) is a plus

  • Have strong knowledge of tooling selection, work holding, and machining best practices

  • Have the ability to detailed inspection and quality verification

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred
