Data Scientist

The Opportunity:
As a Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will serve as both the primary intake point for requirements and the developer responsible for transforming those requirements into modern, automated, data‑driven solutions. You will work across multiple teams to address organizational data challenges holistically — from assessing raw data sources and modernizing storage solutions, to identifying inefficiencies, improving data quality, and developing scalable, automated workflows. You will design and build end‑to‑end data solutions within the provided ecosystem, ensuring data is captured, structured, stored, transformed, and delivered in a way that supports mission needs. Your role directly enables the organization to mature its data environment, reduce dependency on manual processes, and prepare for emerging capabilities in automation and AI.

This role demands strong self‑management, technical agility, and the ability to translate stakeholder needs into actionable development tasks. You will work in an agile environment, driving transparency through prioritization, development tracking, and frequent updates to stakeholders.

You Have:

• Experience with gathering, analyzing, and translating requirements into technical, data‑driven solutions

• Experience with working in the Microsoft 365 environment, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, or SharePoint

• Knowledge of designing end‑to‑end data workflows, including ingestion, structuring, storage, transformation, or delivery

• Knowledge of modernizing data storage solutions and improving data quality, lineage, and accessibility

• Knowledge of data life cycle concepts and modern data architecture principles

• Ability to identify process inefficiencies and develop scalable, automated workflows

• Ability to work with both structured and unstructured data

• TS/SCI clearance

• Bachelor’s degree

• Scrum Master or Product Owner certification

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with developing in Palantir Foundry or similar low/no‑code platforms

• Experience with Dataverse, SQL‑based environments, or other structured data storage platforms

• Experience with enterprise data governance, metadata management, or data cataloging

• Experience with developing solutions within Microsoft 365 environments at an organizational scale

• Experience with Special Operations Community

• Ability to advise leadership on data strategy, digital modernization, and long‑term data/AI readiness

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
