Render vývojář (C++, vývoj komplexních simulátorů pro bezpečnostní složky)

Location: Bagira Czech Republic (CZ)

Experience Level: Senior

Description

We are looking for a Rendering Developer who can bring new expertise and experience to our team and help us take our unique software simulators for training defence and security forces another step closer to perfection. :)

We develop a large part of our technology in-house — from core simulation systems and our rendering engine to evaluation software — so you will have the opportunity to work deep inside the core of our systems.

This is a position where you will work directly on our engine, contribute to the design and development of new features, improve existing functionality, and collaborate with talented developers who have been working on simulation technologies for many years — including colleagues with previous experience developing world-renowned games.

Bagira is a Czech-Israeli company and a leader in training and simulation systems, with many years of experience delivering advanced and effective mission-readiness solutions tailored to customer requirements. Bagira simulators are used to train hundreds of thousands of soldiers at more than 40 locations worldwide.

Around third of the 170+ colleagues at our R&D centre in Brno work in software development. Our IG (Image Generator) Team develops simulation logic, computational models and audio systems primarily in C++, as well as C# and Lua. Our 2D/3D artists and modellers work with our proprietary graphics engine, 3D Studio and Blender, and we also have dedicated testing and integration teams. We use MS Azure DevOps, Git and SVN.

Projects you may work on include:

  • Visualisation for a UAV simulator and its sensors — a 500 × 500 km terrain, 800 million trees, hundreds of thousands of unique buildings and static objects such as cars, railway cars, ships and antennas, thousands of vehicles in urban traffic, trains, and up to hundreds of thousands of pedestrians with deterministic behaviour.
  • Simulator for training Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) and artillery forward observers — up to 200,000 unique destructible buildings within a single terrain, dome projection, hardware replicas of observation devices, and more.
  • Training simulator for a chemical, biological and radiological protection centre — including physics-based propagation of different types of gases, radiation simulation, and more.

Your mission:

  • Develop and improve the core of our graphics engine.
  • Extend its functionality — for example lighting techniques, character animation systems, decal systems, particle systems, terrain rendering and vegetation.
  • Implement algorithms based on scientific research and game-development publications, as well as develop our own in-house solutions.

You may also contribute to:

  • Tools for our content team, such as terrain-data conversion tools and systems for creating destructible buildings.
  • Physics systems — building destruction, craters, ballistics, flight models, and more.
  • Systems for rendering 2D and 3D map elements.
  • Audio systems.

What we are looking for:

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with real-time rendering, visualisation systems and computer graphics in general.
  • Good knowledge of development tools and a solid understanding of software development principles.
  • Professional-level C++ skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience with Lua, HLSL or other scripting/shader languages is an advantage.

What we offer:

  • The opportunity to work on the development of unique, technically challenging products.
  • Direct collaboration with other development teams.
  • 5 weeks of paid holiday, plus up to 5 additional days off.
  • Meal allowance.
  • Flexible working hours and the option to occasionally work from home.
  • Budget for team activities and discounted mobile plans for you and your family.
  • And much more.
