Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) level - Full Stack Java Spring Boot & React Developer to provide expert hands-on, technical leadership, architecture modern cloud-native solutions, and delivering backend infrastructure with dynamic frontend user interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect Cloud-Native Solutions: Lead the strategy, design, and deployment of complex microservices architecture across AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • Full-Stack Technical Leadership: As an active member of a development team provide leadership on Java Spring Boot backend systems and reusable React.js frontend component architectures.

  • Front-end Development (React): Build responsive, interactive, and user-friendly interfaces using React.js. Implement and manage application state using state management libraries (e.g., Redux) as needed. Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimal performance of the UI.

  • Orchestrate Containerization: Design, scale, and maintain containerized applications using Kubernetes clusters for enterprise production environments.

  • API & Integration Governance: Oversee RESTful API and WebSocket design, data streaming, and hybrid-cloud integration strategies.

  • Multi-Cloud Database Mastery: Optimize data models and high-availability setups across relational and non-relational databases, utilizing both cloud-native storage and traditional system

Scrum Participation:

  • Actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives

  • Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, and other team members to define, estimate, and deliver user stories

  • Contribute to backlog refinement and ensure alignment with product goals

  • Code Quality & Best Practices:

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards

  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices

  • Implement unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability

  • Deployment & Operations:

  • Assist in the deployment of applications to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and manage containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) as required

  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide production support

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work effectively within a cross-functional team, collaborating with UX/UI designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences



Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelors degree and 10+ years of progressive relevant experience in software development or technical roles
  • Proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework
  • Strong experience with React.js and related front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
  • Experience with RESTful API design and development
  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Masters Degree in related discipline,
  • Kubernetes production environments.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
