As a Junior Frontend Engineer at Backbase, you'll be joining one of our teams of highly skilled front-end developers building components, frameworks, libraries and management consoles. With these tools, you will empower developers and their agile teams to fully utilise the potential of the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform. As a member of one of the core teams, your primary role will involve delivering world-class web experiences within the payments domain. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team with back-end and quality assurance engineers, and will be closely collaborating with a separate mobile squad. The code you will be working on is heavily used by our customers.

** We are restricted to hiring in our local market for this role. We can only accept applicant who are already living in the Netherlands with either Dutch Residency, EU Passport or a HSM Visa. **

Meet the job
As a Junior Frontend Engineer you'll be using Angular and TypeScript to create an intuitive, inspiring and UX-driven information portal.
 We love clean, testable, and maintainable code that is cross-browser compatible. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that is end-to-end responsible for analysis, design, implementation and delivery of production-ready software.
We like to keep work interesting and we encourage our developers to develop their personal strengths..

How about you

As a Frontend Engineer you are sharpening your Angular and Typescript skills. We use the most recent version of Angular. You have also worked with RxJS and you understand design patterns. Having experience with node and npm, and the Angular CLI would be an advantage. Additional Devops-skills like Docker & Kubernetes are also useful.

In addition we are looking for someone with:
● Experience with SASS and HTML;
● Knowledge, confidence, and efficiency in debugging issues;
● Ability to find and evaluate multiple solutions to a given problem and apply working fixes;
● In-depth knowledge of broader web application architecture topics, such as:
       ○ HTTP specs (common headers, response statuses, etc...);
       ○ JWT tokens;
       ○ Security topics (CORS, XSS, CSP);
● In-depth knowledge of REST;
● Knowing how to effectively set up a project based on TDD principles;
● Curious and flexible mindset;
