We are looking for an experienced and visionary Vice President – Technology to lead our technology organization and play a key role in shaping Bacancy's next phase of technology growth and engineering excellence.
Role Overview
The VP – Technology will be responsible for defining and executing the organization's technology strategy while driving engineering excellence, innovation, architecture governance, and technical delivery across multiple technology practices.
This role requires a strong technology leader who can operate at both strategic and execution levels—someone who can work with executive leadership on business strategy while providing technical direction to architects, engineering leaders, and delivery teams.
The successful candidate will also contribute to strategic client engagements and collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams on technology-led opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Vision
- Define and execute a forward-looking technology strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies such as AI, Generative AI, Cloud, Data, and automation to create business value.
- Establish technology standards, engineering principles, and architecture governance across the organization.
- Drive modernization and continuous improvement of technology capabilities.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and ensure the organization remains competitive from a technology perspective.
Engineering Leadership
- Provide leadership and direction to Engineering Managers, Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and senior technology professionals.
- Build and mentor a strong technology leadership team.
- Establish a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Improve engineering productivity, quality, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Develop organizational capabilities required to support future business growth.
Architecture & Technical Excellence
- Provide executive oversight of architecture and technical decisions for complex and strategic engagements.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with business requirements.
- Drive adoption of modern software engineering practices and cloud-native approaches.
- Establish effective technical governance without creating unnecessary delivery complexity.
- Review and guide technology decisions for large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
Client & Presales Leadership
- Act as a senior technology advisor for strategic global clients and CXO stakeholders.
- Participate in executive-level client discussions, discovery workshops, and solution presentations.
- Support strategic presales, RFP/RFI responses, technical proposals, estimations, and solutioning.
- Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to strengthen technology-led revenue opportunities.
- Build credibility with clients by demonstrating strong understanding of both business objectives and technology solutions.
Business & Organizational Leadership
- Work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team on technology and business initiatives.
- Translate business objectives into actionable technology strategies.
- Collaborate with Sales, Delivery, HR, Finance, and other functions to support organizational growth.
- Establish technology KPIs and continuously measure engineering and delivery effectiveness.
- Contribute to strategic planning, organizational transformation, and long-term business growth.
What We're Looking For
- 15–20 years of overall experience in software engineering and technology leadership.
- Proven experience in senior leadership positions such as VP Technology, CTO, Head of Technology, Director Technology, or equivalent.
- Strong experience managing and mentoring large technology organizations.
- Experience within IT Services, Digital Engineering, Software Product, or Technology Consulting environments.
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture, cloud platforms, AI/ML, Generative AI, DevOps, data platforms, and digital engineering.
- Experience delivering complex enterprise technology programs for global customers.
- Strong exposure to technology strategy, solution architecture, and enterprise presales.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.
- Strong commercial understanding with the ability to connect technology decisions to business outcomes.
