Job Summary:

This is a full-time position for a Cybersecurity Engineering Manager dedicated to supporting Avnet’s cybersecurity through solutions engineering. This is a hybrid role, located at Avnet’s McKemy facility in Chandler, Arizona.

Job Level Specifications:

• Lead a team of security engineers to develop, implement, and maintain security measures to protect Avnet systems and data. Work closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure and application administrators, engineers, and owners to ensure adequate logging of security events and alerts, vulnerability scanning solutions and reporting platform, endpoint security solutions, cloud security and data loss prevention (SIEM, VMP, CSPM, EDR, DLP, CASB).
• Understand business goals and needs to provide a balanced security investment.
• Manage 24x7 on-call support as part of the team’s on-call rotation duties.
• Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed to facilitate the effective leadership of global team members and support a global 24x7 operation.
• Navigate ambiguity, prioritize, and make sound decisions when autonomy is required.
• Manage and provide technical guidance and consultation related to information security issues. Make recommendations for improvements/changes based on findings, identify risks, collaborate across teams to reduce risks and incidents, develop innovative solutions, and support enablement of business objectives.  Stay informed of the latest cybersecurity vulnerabilities, threats, trends, and solutions. Expand expertise as technology and business evolve.
• Establish and document security solutions, standard operating procedures, and guidelines.
• Manage team financials, meet budget requirements, and  cost-effective solutions and services.
• Review and approve cybersecurity aspects of information system changes.
• Report security engineering metrics.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience:

• Typically, 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience

Education and Certification(s):

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

• Strong technical background with an understanding of legacy and modern security, on-premise security, cloud security, infrastructure, network, application, and data security.
• Desirable experience includes security operations, incident response, logging and detection engineering
• Strong collaboration, diplomacy, and communications skills
