Position: R&D Principal Software Development Engineer

Employment type: Full-time permanent

Location: Lake Forest, CA – Hybrid

We are looking for a talented developer with the skills and passion to successfully implement complex technical solutions to join our Process Simulation team. AVEVA’s simulation products are some of the world’s leading Simulations solutions in the industrial automation market.

In this role you will:

• Work with the Product Owner, Stakeholders, and the Scrum Team to understand, define and implement solution requirements

• Lead the design and architecture of new features in our products to satisfy the business requirements

• Have a learning mindset and stay current on the industry standards for Cyber Security and latest technologies for building secure applications efficiently

• Participate in Scrum meetings with other team members including sprint planning and estimating; backlog refinement; daily Scrum meetings; sprint retrospectives and sprint reviews

• Ensure your code is fully reviewed, unit tested and documented and delivered to agreed quality standards


QUALIFICATIONS,SKILLS, and EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of on-the-job experience as a Software Developer

• Full SDLC experience, including release to operations and production

• Technical proficiency in writing software using C# .NET Framework, .NET Core

• Technical proficiency in writing software using C++, COM is a plus

• Technical proficiency with Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, RESTful Web API, GRPC API's

• Technical proficiency in Web Development using HTML5, Angular, ASP. Net is a plus

• Strong experience of developing enterprise-wide scalable and highly available systems using technologies such as Messaging Queues, Microservice/Service Oriented Architectures

• Lead design discussions and use software analyses & design tools such as UML, design patterns are essential

• Experience in handling large datasets considering performance and data security

Solid track record of ‘hands on’ experience as a software developer in an agile environment, preferably working on commercial products

• Perform highly complex or specialized development activities involving coding in adherence to cybersecurity standards, code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and design document creation and maintenance

• Use pragmatic and practical approaches to solving complex problems

Exceptional communication skills, working with a broad range of people, including Product Owners, Architects, Testers & Product Support across sites


PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Strong experience in designing using UML diagrams

• Demonstrated ability to articulate and implement Object-Oriented Design patterns and Design principles

• Experience in deploying containers using service fabric, preferably Kubernetes

Salary Range:

$142,100.00 - $236,900.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
