Job Description

Implements tactical and operational goals related to network architecture, infrastructure scalability, and IT service optimization. Contributes to the implementation of new network systems, infrastructure processes, security standards, and operational frameworks. Manages projects and operational network and infrastructure engineering workflows, such as overseeing system upgrades, cloud migrations, security enhancements, or optimization initiatives. Works on technical challenges with diverse scopes, requiring careful evaluation of factors such as network performance, security risks, hardware dependencies, and industry best practices. Derives solutions based on limited precedent, applying technical expertise and analytical thinking to address emerging IT infrastructure concerns. Identifies new approaches by integrating system diagnostics, data analysis, and performance metrics to ensure scalability and reliability. Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including IT operations, cybersecurity teams, software engineering, vendors, and customers, to support seamless infrastructure management and troubleshooting. Provides technical insights, ensuring alignment between networking solutions, security protocols, and business objectives.

The Opportunity:

Under general supervision, the Infrastructure Application Engineer is responsible for engineering and supporting infrastructure and platform services that enable enterprise-wide security capabilities. You will work closely with security architects, application owners, DevOps teams, and infrastructure engineers to design, implement and support robust, secure, and scalable systems that support the organization's security mission.

What we're looking for

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent education/experience.

• Experience: 3-5 years of experience implementing cybersecurity solutions.

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience with solving highly technical problems as well as in building secure solutions to solve those complex problems required.

• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP OSCP, AWS Security Specialty, or similar.

• AWS certifications– especially Cloud Security Engineer or Cloud Security Architect.

• Azure certifications also a plus; We will train if necessary.

• Engineering experience: demonstrating solutions delivery, principles, and emerging technologies. Designing and implementing enterprise security solutions. This includes: Continuous monitoring and making improvements to those solutions.

• Background in security engineering within a regulated industry (finance, healthcare, government, etc.).

• Experience working with the business, operational information technology teams, and the information security team and vendors.

• Experience with advanced security technologies such as SASE, IAM, EDR, SIEM, CNAPP, DLP

• Experience with Zero Trust architecture such as Zscaler ZPA or Netskope Private Access or similar technologies.

• Experience in security considerations for cloud computing control, SaaS, PaaS and\or IaaS.

• Knowledgeable in Enterprise Architecture standards and practices including the ability to translate customer business needs into Network and Security solution configuration requirements.

• Experience or knowledge of CMMC and NIST 800-171 compliance standards and frameworks

• Production and review of procedures documentation

• Able to think strategically & tactically.

• Have strong technical knowledge, experience, and a hunger in seeking, identifying and solving highly complex problems as well as in building and secure solutions to solve them.

• You possess strong and superb communication skills.

• Have strong understanding of enterprise security solution fundamentals including both securing & contributing to the architecture of cloud-native solutions.

• Able to work independently & collaboratively under supervision to solve problems and get the job done right.

• Able to understand and develop both PowerShell, Python and Bash scripts.

• Able to automate repetitive tasks or functions using scripting or AI capabilities.

• Strong solid understanding of Windows and Linux (RHEL-like) operating systems including working knowledge of command line (cmd / bash).

• Have solid understanding Zero Trust solutions and prior experience with implementation.

• You have working knowledge of networking fundamentals (routing/switching/SPAN ports).

• Able to collaborate and work with a diverse set of business and technology teams from around the globe.

• You know relevant frameworks, standards, tools and regulations, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards (800-171, 800-53), ISO27001/27002, COBIT, COSO, ITAR, DFARS, OWASP top 10 and others.
