Responsibilities: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Analyze, design, and modify Autodesk's Enterprise applications and utility programs. Write, test, and debug code using the latest programming languages and technologies. Design monitoring software for optimal operational efficiency in Enterprise Engineering. Develop and customize monitoring modules for Autodesk Enterprise applications. Utilize monitoring tools like Catchpoint, Dynatrace, AWS Cloudwatch, and event aggregation tools. Create dashboards with Grafana, Influx DB, and Python to gain insights into Autodesk's enterprise applications. Build data integration pipelines using AWS Kinesis, Lambda, and Python to collect metrics from various monitoring tools and systems. Implement, maintain and consult on the observability framework that supports multiple Engineering and operations across Autodesk DPE Division. Collaborate with Service Reliability Engineers and Application architects to build an Observability platform. Design and develop monitoring plugins, scripts for automation, and custom dashboards for Operations and EOC teams to optimize operational efficiency. Work with Monitoring tool vendors to fix any platform-related enhancements to address business needs. Design and implement functional requirements, expertise in coding standards, best practices, software design patterns in the most cutting-edge approaches/technologies. Be a key member in the implementation of automated monitoring suppression during maintenance by storing, retrieving, and manipulating data for analysis. Implement self-healing scripts for monitoring multiple monitoring tools and recover them. Implement HA infrastructure for all application monitoring tools. Telecommuting is permitted. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software developer-related occupation. Special Requirements: Position requires at least 2 years of experience in each of the following skills:
Design and develop self-services that help automate the repeat manual process and save person-hours for operations;
Experience with web services, REST API, security, unit testing, continuous integration /deployment;
Assist in design & implementation of functional requirements, expertise in coding standards, best practices, software design patterns;
Work in Agile environment and perform role of a Scrum Master.
Position requires at least 1 academic year of graduate-level coursework in each of the following skills:
Build a data integration pipeline using AWS Kinesis, Lambda, and Python to gather metrics from multiple monitoring, logging, and tracing tools;
Design and develop monitoring software for Enterprise Engineering and operations to optimize operational efficiency;
Design and develop monitoring plugins, scripts for automation, and custom dashboards for Operations and EOC teams to optimize operational efficiency;
Confer with Operations and EOC teams and others to design systems and obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, interfaces, and support implementation of automated event collation/correlation layer in monitoring;
Develop, Debug, test and maintain monitoring applications infrastructure in AWS cloud environment;
Design and develop Data Lake for storing all the monitoring metrics for further data analysis, even correlation and distributed tracing.

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $181,272 - $205,500/year. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
