Autodesk seeks a highly motivated Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who specializes in managing cloud infrastructure and is proficient in MySQL database administration to join our agile team!

Position Overview

As a Principal SRE, you will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of Cloud infrastructure for critical Autodesk Cloud Services. This role involves planning, building, and running infrastructure for the Identity cloud service. You will contribute to design, architecture, and support, ensuring 24x7 operation of business-critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the architecture, development, and deployment of Cloud infrastructure, in addition to MySQL/NoSQL databases in high SLA environments.
• Manage, support, and maintain cloud infrastructure, adhering to guidelines and policies.
• Perform system administration for off-the-shelf and internally developed applications, ensuring continuous operation.
• Install, configure, monitor, upgrade, and maintain cloud infrastructure in production and non-production environments.
• Participate in database maintenance and disaster recovery activities.
• Provide technical expertise in the consolidation and migration of databases to new hardware and platforms.
• Conduct regular capacity planning and trend analysis.
• Adapt business requirements, model data, and develop database specifications.
• Evaluate, select, and implement tools to improve performance monitoring, recovery, and change management.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance; resolve performance bottlenecks and optimize queries.
• Drive rapid remediation of database-related incidents, prioritize uptime, and analyze incidents to implement learnings.

Desired Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure administration, SRE, or related fields.
• Extensive experience working with various AWS cloud services.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in administering, optimizing, and troubleshooting MySQL/NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience in database installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and security management.
• Sound knowledge of UNIX operating systems.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, NewRelic.
• Familiarity with security best practices for cloud services.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Passion for running and improving high-availability database systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve cloud infrastructure or database-related issues in a timely manner.
