We do this by building, implementing, and applying machine learning, data science, and real-time data engineering to the Big Data generated by the Autodesk ecosystem. Autodesk Construction Solutions is looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer to join its DevOps group in the Enterprise Center Of Excellence. This group is responsible for developing solutions that enable application developers to deliver high-quality software and keep the products and services that we support running as reliably and efficiently as possible.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with our engineering teams to improve performance and reliability for new feature development

• Design, write, document, and deliver software to improve product availability, scalability, and performance

• Coordinate and perform major upgrades with zero downtime

• Create tools to automate requests made of your team instead of treating each request as a manual task

• Support the products and services we build by participating in an on-call rotation with your teammates

Minimum Qualifications

• Curiosity about how things work

• Obsession with automating everything you can with an eye towards simplicity and elegance

• Advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux systems

• Scripting experience in at least one scripting language and familiarity with others

• Ability to troubleshoot everywhere from build through Production issues

• Expertise in at least one of the following with a preference towards AWS: AWS, Azure, GCP

• Self-motivated and able to deal with periods of full autonomy

• Empathetic with great communication skills

• Team-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

• Infrastructure as code (Terraform)

• AWS products: ECS/Fargate, RDS (Postgres), SNS/SQS, IAM, S3, CloudFront, etc.

• Jenkins and Spinnaker

• Industry security certifications and processes (eg: SOC2, FedRAMP, etc)

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $141,400 and $228,800. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
