Position Overview
The Chief of Staff, Product Strategy & Operations is a strategic leader and trusted partner to the VP, Product Management in the Enterprise Systems & Experiences (ESE) product organization. This thought-leadership role drives strategic initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams, oversees the Product Strategy and Operations function, and ensures the organization operates successfully and efficiently to deliver on business goals to catalyze Autodesk’s growth to $10b and beyond.  
 

Responsibilities

  • Trusted Partner & Advisor: You will act as an important advisor to the VP, Product Management, assisting in decision-making, representing the VP in meetings when necessary, and ensuring communication between the VP and other teams is clear

  • Strategic Planning & OKR Management: You will work closely with the VP, Product Management to align the product organization’s objectives (OKRs) with our overall vision and strategic planning process. You will develop and implement integrated planning processes to amplify the product organization's effectiveness

  • Metrics-Driven Decision-Making: You will define operational standards for product teams supported with data, reporting, and metrics​ in partnership with Engineering Excellence. You will manage the product excellence program (including user survey feedback & product health metrics). You will provide thought-leadership with other product departments to share best practices and support continuous learning and improvement

  • Product Strategy & Operations: You will oversee the Product Strategy and Operations function to standardize processes and tooling to scale the product organization efficiently and land committed impact with aligned roadmaps to business goals 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will maintain strong working relationships as a trusted partner with other leaders across the organization to ensure seamless inter and cross-departmental collaboration. Foster and share best practices with the Chief of Staff community of practice across Autodesk

  • Team Culture Ambassador: You will foster employee engagement through team-building events, recognition awards, facilitation of the culture committee and PM community of practice

  • Project Management: You will lead and manage complex projects that span across multiple teams and divisions, closely monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments to ensure successful results

  • Talent Management: You will partner with the VP, Product Management and HR Business Partner on talent management activities, training & change management investments, org design & strategy, and location strategy

  • Team Operating Cadences & Communications: You will define team operating norms and communications including quarterly Town Halls, newsletters, product launch and stakeholder communications

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in software, in a product management, technical program management, program management, management consulting, business operations, strategic planning or a similar function with 5+ years’ experience as Chief of Staff for Product Organization at large technology company 

  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic planning and corporate goal setting for a product organization

  • Demonstrated success at relationship building, influencing, and communication skills with all levels of management and employees 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience

  Preferred Qualifications 

  • MBA and/or graduate degree. 

  • Experience in overseeing Product Strategy & Operations for a product organization at scale

  • Experience driving global and complex business transformation

  • Experience developing and executing communications strategies, plans, programs and events

  • Ability to blend traditional internal communications tactics with new media, including enterprise collaboration and social platforms

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $166,300 and $269,060. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
