Description

As a Ground Application Engineer in the Marine Systems team you will work on Auterion Mission Control applications to bring a state of the art control interface to the marine environment.  You will integrate with marine systems and sensors and provide a simple yet instinctive interaction model that lowers the cognitive load for marine operators during complex missions.  You will collaborate with developers across Auterions full technology stack to successfully bring our autonomous vehicle solutions from the air to the sea.  You will work closely with OEMs and end users from government, military and enterprise agencies around the world to develop and deliver tactical solutions for marine operations. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • You have a huge impact in bringing an autonomous marine product to market
  • Develop incredible user experience using the Qt stack (C++ and QML)
  • Improve the current product UI/UX towards the goal of having an easy-to-use, robust, modern and reliable end-to-end system
  • Work with your team to identify and resolve bugs across the software platform, mostly from Auterion Mission Control
  • Write clear, well documented and easy to maintain code and collaborate through GitHub
  • Triage feedback from our partners and together with other product engineering teams and help translate that into a solution for our stack
  • Manage your day-to-day development activity with git and champion easy-to-read and easy-to-maintain git histories consisting of small, well-commented commits
  • Participate in development planning and prioritization

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3+ years experience working as a software engineer
  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields. 
  • You have the appetite to make an impact and bring our products to market
  • Proficient in C/C++ and Python development on Windows, Android and Linux platforms
  • Experience with Qt/QML framework
  • Strong problem-solving skills rounded by a high level of curiosity and creativity
  • Familiar with networking protocols, MAVLink is a plus
  • Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to keep a global team fully informed
  • Willingness to travel and meet with end customers including into elevated risk areas.
  • Bonus: Software Engineering experience working with QGC and PX4 ecosystem
