Sr. Software Engineer II (Infrastructure)

AuditBoard’s success and rapid growth are powered by a modern application architecture that uses stateless containers built on Kubernetes. This architecture is hosted across cloud platforms and regions and is managed with Infrastructure-as-Code. We seek a Senior Software Engineer specializing in managing infrastructure and services as code with experience supporting real-time data streaming/serving technologies. The ideal candidate will have industry experience with scaling reliable and secure cloud infrastructure on a global scale and building, designing, and supporting a cloud-based infrastructure stack to push data around efficiently. The candidate will drive infrastructure features as an individual contributor from design to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use knowledge of Python, Kubernetes, and distributed systems to develop, and support our in-house Infra as a Platform service 
• Enhance our Kubernetes workload scheduling to improve cost savings and reliability
• Build and deliver observability tools and analyze data, working with application and data teams to ensure a consistently superb customer experience.
• Continue to grow automation for infrastructure provisioning, developer efficiency, and internal tooling efficiency
• Work cross-functionally, be a fantastic collaborator, be comfortable with giving and receiving feedback, and be able to thrive in a dynamic environment
• Assist our customer support and sales team with technical issues in regards to the AuditBoard application
• Maintain reliability for our production systems to exceed our SLA requirements, part of which is being in an on-call rotation for production issues.
• Help define internal Service Level Objectives and Service Level Indicators for data pipelines and reporting systems to ensure customer commitments are met
• On-call rotation for production-related issues to uphold our SLA with clients

Attributes of a Successful Candidate:

• 1+ years working with Kubernetes in some form
• 3+ years experience working in a mature scripting/application development language language (e.g. Python, Ruby)
• Experience supporting, troubleshooting, and rolling out software while maintaining SLAs in a production environment
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Some experience writing code in a non-GCed language.
• 1+ years of Technical Support/Helpdesk experience
• 3+ years experience working in Cloud services providers (AWS or Azure)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and other cloud automation tools (e.g. HashiCorp suite)
• Experience with building observability tooling, dashboards, and alerting for monitoring distributed systems (e.g. Grafana, DataDog)
• Experience with running and maintaining B2B SaaS products for thousands of enterprise customers
